Eve Legal Alternatives: 7 Best Options for PI Firms (2026)

By Sean Sharefi, Founder of CounselorAI · Updated August 13, 2026

If you’re looking for Eve Legal alternatives, you’re probably not looking for one replacement — you’re building a shortlist. This page compares the seven platforms a personal injury firm realistically evaluates against Eve in 2026, with what each one is genuinely good at, where it falls short, and what it costs where the vendor publishes a price. I build one of them, and I’ve put it last rather than first.

The short version: Eve is the broadest plaintiff-firm platform of the group and the hardest to displace outright — it now spans five plaintiff practice areas and reports 1,200+ firms. Most firms that leave it are PI-only shops paying for coverage they don’t use, or firms that want a published price. Of the alternatives below, only two publish pricing at all.

1. Eve — the incumbent you’re comparing against

Eve is an AI platform for plaintiff firms, and as of 2026 it is the broadest one in this list. Its own site says it is trusted by 1,200+ firms and covers personal injury, labor and employment, medical malpractice, Social Security and disability, and workers’ compensation. In March 2026 the company announced general availability of its agent platform after adoption by more than 900 plaintiff firms, and in June 2026 it launched EveOS, repositioning the product as an operating system for the whole firm rather than a set of drafting tools.

Where Eve wins. If your firm runs PI alongside employment, med-mal or workers’ comp, Eve is very hard to beat — one platform covers all of it, and nothing else in this list does. Its Auditor sweep of active cases for missed value is a genuinely distinctive feature, and its intake and comms agents extend further up the funnel than most drafting-first tools. Eve publicly reports 90% faster demand letter generation and a 2.5x increase in case capacity, and a 4.9/5 G2 rating. For a multi-practice plaintiff firm, Eve is usually the right answer and the rest of this page is academic.

Where it falls short. Breadth has a cost. A platform serving five practice areas optimises for coverage, so PI-specific depth — offer/counter negotiation cycles, jurisdiction-matched settlement multipliers, post-draft citation re-validation — tends to be shallower than a PI-only tool. And Eve does not publish pricing: every number comes through a sales conversation, which makes budgeting a demand-heavy practice harder than it needs to be.

Considering it because you want everything in one place? Eve is the strongest candidate here. The alternatives below matter most if PI is the majority of your caseload.

2. EvenUp — the volume demand engine

EvenUp is the largest PI-specific player by reported adoption. Its site claims 2,000+ personal injury firms and 10,000 cases processed weekly, spanning demand drafting (AI Drafts, Express Demands), medical chronologies, communication agents and executive analytics.

Where EvenUp wins. Scale and maturity. If your bottleneck is simply getting a high volume of competent demands out of the door, EvenUp has processed more PI demands than anyone else in this list and has the settlement data to go with it. It reports a 69% higher likelihood of hitting policy limits. Firms with a heavy pre-litigation pipeline and no appetite to change case management systems get value quickly.

Where it falls short. EvenUp does not publish pricing, and its historical positioning as a per-case service means cost scales with volume in a way software licensing does not. Firms at high demand volume should model total annual spend carefully before committing. Outcome figures like “settlement outcomes improved by 300%” are the vendor’s own reporting, not independently audited — treat them as marketing claims, as you should ours.

3. Supio — strongest on mass tort and document volume

Supio describes itself as an agentic legal AI platform built for plaintiff law and mass torts, with intake, medical chronologies, demand letters, litigation drafting and a case ledger. It has raised roughly $91M — a $25M Series A and a $60M Series B led by Sapphire Ventures with Mayfield and Thomson Reuters Ventures — and has a partnership with Thomson Reuters.

Where Supio wins. Document-heavy work. If your practice includes mass tort or cases with very large record sets, Supio’s document intelligence is built for exactly that, and the Thomson Reuters relationship is a meaningful signal of institutional durability. Its published customer stories cite $500–$1,000 saved per case.

Where it falls short. No published pricing. And the mass tort centre of gravity means a single-plaintiff auto practice may be buying capability aimed at a different problem.

4. Filevine (DemandsAI) — the right answer if you already run Filevine

DemandsAI generates demand letters from case data already in Filevine’s case management system, pulling from medical records and other documents in the file. Filevine also acquired Parrot in April 2025, adding deposition transcription and summaries.

Where Filevine wins. Zero integration work. If Filevine is already your system of record, the demand draws on data that is already there, and there is no second vendor, no export, and no reconciliation between systems. For firms that value one throat to choke, that advantage is real and often decisive.

Where it falls short. It is a feature of a case management platform rather than a PI-specialist tool, so depth in valuation and negotiation is limited. And it is only compelling if you are on Filevine — switching case management systems to get a demand generator is the tail wagging the dog.

5. Precedent — the one with a published, fixed price

Precedent is a PI case automation platform whose demand product, Demand Composer, is sold at $275 per demand maximum, with “unlimited revisions included”, Case Intelligence analyses bundled, and — in the company’s words — “No tokens. No hidden fees. No surprise add-ons. Volume discounts kick in automatically.” It integrates with Clio, SmartAdvocate and Litify.

Where Precedent wins. Cost predictability, and it deserves credit for publishing at all. Unlimited revisions inside a flat fee removes the anxiety of iterating on a draft, which is a genuine problem with metered products. Its adjuster intelligence angle is also distinctive.

Where it falls short. At $275 per demand it is the most expensive published price in this comparison — roughly 1.8x CounselorAI’s pay-per-use rate and 2.2x our monthly-plan rate. For a firm sending 40 demands a month that difference is material. It is also demand-centric rather than a full case operations layer.

6. ProPlaintiff — AI drafting plus case management

ProPlaintiff combines PI case management with AI demand letters, medical chronologies, pleadings and motions, media analysis, a client care app and an AI paralegal assistant. The site states it is HIPAA compliant.

Where ProPlaintiff wins. Consolidation for firms that want to replace both their case management system and their drafting tool in one move, rather than bolting AI onto an existing stack. The client-communication features are more developed than most drafting-first competitors.

Where it falls short. Replacing case management is a much larger change than adding a demand tool, with migration risk attached. Pricing is not published on the site.

7. CounselorAI — PI-only depth, and a price on the page

This is the one I build, so weigh it accordingly. CounselorAI is built for one practice area — personal injury — and does not attempt to cover employment, med-mal or mass tort. The wager is that depth in the PI case lifecycle beats breadth for firms where PI is the business.

Where CounselorAI wins. Three things the rest of this list either doesn’t do or doesn’t do deeply. A negotiation co-pilot built around the offer/counter cycle, drafting counters to adjuster offers with round-by-round tracking. Settlement multiplier prediction giving target/low/high grounded in jurisdiction-matched verified holdings. And a post-draft citation validator that re-checks every citation after drafting, before the letter is sent. Plus a published price: $150 per demand pay-per-use, or $125 per demand on a monthly plan at 20 or more demands a month. Full pricing comparison here.

Where it falls short — honestly. If your firm handles meaningful non-PI volume, we are the wrong tool and Eve is a better fit; we will tell you that on the call. We are a smaller company than Eve, EvenUp or Supio, which matters if procurement weighs vendor scale. And we have no mass tort tooling, so if that is a growth area for you, look at Supio.

Which One Should Your Firm Pick?

  • Multi-practice plaintiff firm (PI plus employment, med-mal, workers’ comp) → Eve. Nothing else covers that spread.
  • High-volume pre-litigation PI shopEvenUp for install-base maturity, or CounselorAI if per-demand cost and negotiation support matter more than scale.
  • Mass tort or very large record setsSupio.
  • Already on Filevine and happyDemandsAI. Don’t add a vendor to solve a problem your platform already covers.
  • You want a fixed, knowable cost above allPrecedent at $275/demand, or CounselorAI at $150/$125 if you want the lower published number.
  • Replacing case management and drafting togetherProPlaintiff.
  • PI-only or PI-primary, and the offer/counter cycle is where you lose moneyCounselorAI.

A Note on Pricing Transparency

Five of the seven platforms here don’t publish a price. That is normal in legal tech and it isn’t evidence of anything sinister — enterprise contracts vary by seat count and volume. But it does mean a shortlist exercise turns into five sales calls before you can build a spreadsheet. Only Precedent and CounselorAI let you do the arithmetic before you talk to anyone. If cost modelling is where you are stuck, the Eve Legal pricing page lays out what is and isn’t public, and the ROI calculator lets you run your own numbers.

Why I Built CounselorAI

I’m Sean Sharefi. Before CounselorAI, I spent 20 years running technical programs at IBM, GE, and other Fortune 100 clients — including 6+ years building production AI systems where “hallucination” isn’t a marketing buzzword, it’s a multimillion-dollar liability.

A year ago, I embedded full-time inside a California personal injury firm to streamline their case operations from intake through settlement. Across that year, I watched the firm try multiple AI tools — including strong plaintiff-firm AI platforms with deep capabilities. The pattern I saw: even the well-funded plaintiff platforms left specific operational gaps unfilled. There was no AI that drafted strategic counter-responses to adjuster offers with reasoning anchored to the original demand. There was no AI that predicted settlement value with PI-specific multipliers and verified case law to back the number. There was no daily dashboard surfacing negotiation lift, hours saved per demand, and AI accuracy at settlement to the managing partner. Those operational pieces were happening in spreadsheets, in someone’s head, or not at all.

I built CounselorAI to do one thing well — run PI cases from intake through settlement, with the depth that comes from specialization. ICD-10 validation. Multiplier-based settlement prediction. Jurisdiction-matched verified case law. Demand letters structured for adjusters. A negotiation co-pilot built for the offer/counter cycle. Metrics PI managing partners actually care about.

I built it next to attorneys who would have shredded it if it didn’t work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best alternatives to Eve Legal?

For PI-specific work the main alternatives in 2026 are EvenUp, Supio, Filevine’s DemandsAI, Precedent, ProPlaintiff and CounselorAI. Which is “best” depends on your practice mix: multi-practice plaintiff firms are usually better served staying on Eve, PI-only firms tend to do better on a PI specialist, and mass tort work points to Supio.

How much does Eve Legal cost?

Eve does not publish pricing. As of August 2026 there are no public tiers on its site and figures are provided through a sales conversation, typically scaled by firm size, practice mix and seat count. Any specific dollar figure you see quoted for Eve online is a third-party estimate, not a published price. See our Eve Legal pricing breakdown for what is actually knowable.

Is Eve Legal worth it for personal injury firms?

For multi-practice plaintiff firms, generally yes — it covers PI, employment, medical malpractice, Social Security and disability, and workers’ compensation in one platform, which no PI specialist does. For PI-only or PI-primary firms, you are paying for coverage you don’t use, and the PI-specific depth gap shows up in settlement prediction, negotiation support and citation validation.

Which Eve Legal alternatives publish their pricing?

Two of the seven. Precedent publishes $275 per demand as a maximum, with unlimited revisions included and automatic volume discounts. CounselorAI publishes $150 per demand pay-per-use and $125 per demand on a monthly plan at 20 or more demands a month. Eve, EvenUp, Supio, Filevine and ProPlaintiff all require a sales conversation.

Can CounselorAI replace Eve Legal entirely?

For PI work, yes. For anything else, no — CounselorAI doesn’t cover non-PI practice areas and doesn’t try to be a general plaintiff-firm suite. Firms that switch usually either run PI exclusively, or keep Eve for their non-PI practices and use CounselorAI for the PI workflow.

Does Eve Legal handle settlement prediction for PI?

Eve provides case evaluation and its Auditor surfaces missed case value across active files. A specific PI multiplier-based settlement range grounded in jurisdiction-matched comparable holdings is not something Eve documents publicly. CounselorAI is built around that calculation. Verify current capability with Eve directly — the product has changed twice in 2026.

Is CounselorAI HIPAA compliant?

Yes. End-to-end encryption, audit logging, per-firm data isolation, SSO, MFA, and idle session timeout. BAAs signed as standard. PI work involves protected health information at every step; HIPAA compliance is foundational, not bolted on.

Does CounselorAI hallucinate case law?

No — citations are pulled from a library of 10,000+ verified, published court opinions from courts across the United States, jurisdiction-matched. Every citation is re-validated after drafting, before the letter is sent — catching citations that drifted from the source holding, are misformatted, don’t actually support the proposition, or are real but irrelevant to the jurisdiction.

How do I evaluate these tools without five sales calls?

Take one closed file where you know the settlement number, and run it through each tool you’re seriously considering. Compare the draft, the valuation and the citations against what actually happened. It takes an afternoon and tells you more than any comparison page, including this one.
